Same Day Crowns with CEREC™

As a busy DC resident, you’re probably always on the go. There’s only so much time you can devote to going to the dentist. That’s why the South Capitol Smile Center uses CEREC™ to help you spend less time in the dentist’s chair.

CEREC™ is a groundbreaking technological system that allows for the fabrication of all-ceramic tooth restorations in a single visit. While in the past, many restorations required several visits to the dentist, CEREC’s™ system custom creates natural-looking restorations for you in less time, assuring you of a more comfortable, time-efficient dental experience.

It all starts with a digital impression of your teeth, which allows the South Capitol Smile Center team to create a customized, porcelain restoration on site while you wait. Instead of being fitted for a temporary crown and returning for a second appointment, Dr. Samaddar can instead use CEREC™ to place your complete, natural-looking, beautiful restoration on the same day. Quicker, more efficient treatment with CEREC™ means you can spend less time at the dentist and more time doing what you love.

While Dr. Samaddar will always work to preserve your natural tooth structure, in certain cases of damage or decay, it’s necessary to remove part of your tooth.

Q: What is a crown and why do I need one?

A: If Dr. Samaddar has recommended a crown to you, it is likely either to correct a broken tooth or to repair a tooth that has deteriorated due to cavities (decay).

Q: I just want my smile to look good. What are some options to help the appearance of my smile?

A: You are not alone. Most people want to have a nice smile since it is the first thing others notice about you. You may be interested in a few minor adjustments or may have concerns that need more attention. Some smiles can be enhanced with simple whitening or bonding treatments. Other smiles need Invisalign®, porcelain veneers, crowns or bridges; gum contouring; periodontal therapy or a combination of all these techniques. Dr. Samaddar will suggest a treatment plan for you based on your goals, areas of concern and the overall condition of your oral health. Contact us today for a smile evaluation to determine what course of action will produce the best solution for you.
